Polar Ice

The kids started an ice skating class a few weeks ago.  It's every Saturday morning for 1/2 hour.  Jace is in hockey and Brooke is in figure skating.  Really both of their beginner classes are just teaching them how to get around on the ice without breaking too many bones.  Jace has had a few good spills and Brooke is too scared to let go of her teachers hand to be able to fall at all.

We thought Brooke would love it and Jace would hate it because that's just how things usually go ... but surprise, surprise it was the exact opposite.  Jace LOVES ice-skating.  I'm so glad we finally found something he really enjoys.  I could picture him as a hockey player.  He could get some of that aggressive behavior out in an acceptable manner.   Brooke tollerates it but wishes she would have picked soccar or ballet instead.

It mixes things up and gets us out of the house.  Plus it makes winter feel more like winter here.  Sometimes we forget with this 70 degree weather.  Not that I'm complaining.
