Nellis Air Force Base

We stopped at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas while travelling to Grandma & Grandpa's house.  My sister Julie lives in Vegas with her husband Ben and baby boy, Dylan.  It was a nice time to take a break from riding in the car.  Julie had all sorts of fun gifts for the kids:  A candy necklace maker for Brooke, a Pooh Bear blankie & lots of soft jammies and outfits for Ty, and a full blown flight suit with patches and dog tags for Jace.  The kids were so excited.

We were sad that we just missed Uncle Ben.  He got shipped off to Afghanistan the day before we got there.  Jace had all sorts of questions to ask him but he was so excited about having his very own 'real' flight suit.  He put on ALL the patches and his personalized dog tags.  Although, he was a little confused about the dog tags - he thought they must be for dogs so he wasn't sure if he wanted to wear them and he wanted to see Uncle Ben's flight suit to make sure it matched so Julie got it out for him to compare.    We wished that Ben could have been there to show us his helicopters that he flies on but we had fun watching the Thunderbirds instead. Jace was shaking with excitement.  The park they have on base is pretty cool too.  They have all sorts of retired Aircraft that they have on the ground that you can look at and touch.  We saw all the planes and even an old tank.  Jace really like touching the missiles.  What an odd kid.  We love him anyway.

Thanks for such a fun time, Aunt Julie!!  and thanks Uncle Ben for all the fun gear.  Be safe over there! We'll be thinking of you.

You've got a handsome boy there. He sure does love everything about planes and helicopters.

I love the pictures, it was so much fun to have you visit. I had a great time with your little kids. You'll have to come again when Uncle Ben is home to see his helicopters. Hope you can make it to the next airshow, Jace will love it.
