After visiting my doctor for my 37 week appt. we discovered that my baby is in Breech position (the baby is turned the wrong way for a safe delivery). The head is not down, so he sent me home with some exercises that I am doing daily trying to get the baby to turn head down. As the baby gets bigger there is less room in the womb to be able to turn all the way around. I have been kneeling on the couch with my butt in the air and hands on the floor and crawling around on my hands and knees. The more upside down I can get, the better. It is NOT comfortable. If the baby doesn't turn on his/her own then at my 38 week appt. my doctor will try an ECV (External Cephalic Version) and try to manually turn the baby. I've heard this is quite painful and usually has to be done in a hospital to monitor the babies heart rate and have use of ultrasound. If the ECV doesn't work to turn the baby then we will have to schedule a cesarean section. That would stink. (Although I have heard that some Doctors will give you a free tummy tuck if you end up with an unplanned c-section and it is your last baby) Hopefully it doesn't come to that. My contractions are getting more and more frequent. Usually by now I'm very upbeat about getting labor started with lots walking/ exercise/ and activities but I want to get this baby turned around so I have been trying to take it easy. Taking it easy is hard for me sometimes. I have more projects I want to get done before babies arrival and I'm a pretty impatient person. I don't want to be laying around when I could be repainting the crib and changing table, making jellyfish decorations for Brooke's room, catching up on laundry, etc...
Please pray that my baby turns out of breech position.
