We had our first Build A Bear experience this weekend. Brooke got invited to a Build A Bear Birthday party for Kambrie, the little girl that lives across the street. She was beyond excited! The party gave her a $20 limit to spend (parents purchase anything over the limit) on an animal/bear of her choosing and then she got to stuff it herself, put a heart inside and bring it to life. She picked a fluffy bunny rabbit and named her Lily. Lily picked out a ballerina tutu dress and some ballet slippers to wear. Each guest put an extra heart in Kambrie's stuffed animal so hers would be filled with her friend's love. The whole thing was completely adorable and Brooke hasn't let go of her sweet Lily bunny since. Does that mean we will be doing Build A Bear again?? NO WAY!! Because it's a total rip off. $16.50 for a ballet dress!?! Plus $7.50 for mini ballet shoes ... plus $15.00 for a rabbit to stuff. I guess I'm too cheap. As soon as we got home Brooke told me that she had the best time ever and she wanted to host a Build A Bear Birthday party for her friends next year. SO ... I have exactly 6 months to convince her of something else. :)
After finishing up at Build A Bear we went over to the food court for birthday cake and so Kambrie could open her presents. They had a fun little area with coin operated ride on toys and Ty went berserk. He LOVED this car, never mind that it's pink and glittery and had a freaky panda bear on the back. lol He refused to get out of it and threw an EPIC tantrum when we had to leave. It was quite embarrassing and very unusual for him.
