'Almost' New Chairs!

I have been meaning to reupholster the cushions on my kitchen chairs for some time now.  They certainly needed it.  When Craig and I got married my parents gave us this kitchen table and chairs set as a gift.  At the time I thought ... hmm.. why do they have this plastic covering on them ... weird.  So I took the plastic off.  They stayed a nice cream color until we had kids.  Fast forward through 8 yrs of spills and they had turned a dirty gray color. Yuck. I wished I had never taken the plastic off.  It was there for a reason.  After some procrastination, I FINALLY decided to redo them.  Happy Birthday to Me!!  I picked out some cute sunshiny, yellow fabric and clear vinyl online and ordered it.  I borrowed Michele's heavy duty stapler and got busy.  Really it was quite easy.  I just unscrewed the bottom cushions from the chairs and wiped them down, then measured and cut the fabric to go over the old stained fabric, stapled the fabric on, stapled the vinyl on, screwed the cushions back in place and taadaa  - they almost look like new chairs.  They still have some dings and bite marks on the wood from the kids but I must say,  a drastic improvement.  I LOVE how they turned out!!  I eventually want to have a yellow kitchen.  Yellow just brightens things up.  It's a happy color. :)
