Daddy turns 32!

Craig was complaining that this was probably going to be one of his worst birthdays because he had a butt load of work to get done before leaving to Peru on business.  As director of Thunderbird for Good he needed to go down to help all the interns get settled and started on project Salta.  The kids and I made it our goal to make sure his special day was lots of fun and not just work.  I spent the morning with him and he talked a little about how he was looking forward to all the good food in Peru even thou gh he couldn't seem to find a restaurant that served one of his favorite desserts, Queso Helado.  After he left to work I found a recipe for it and ran to the store to pick up ingredients.  After I picked up Brooke from preschool we did our best to make his favorite Peruvian dessert for him.  The kids sang to him in the morning and gave him lots of birthday hugs and we had steak kabobs, & corn on the cob for dinner.  He had asked for birthday brownies instead of cake.  I was excited to surprise him with a birthday brownie sundae topped with Queso Helado (similar to ice cream) whipped cream and cherries.  He was shocked that I had been able to even find a recipe for it.  We sang a special birthday song for him and the kids helped him open presents then we watched ''our shows'' while we enjoyed dessert.  I was happy to report that he said it ended up being one of his best birthdays.  YES!!  Sweet success!

Totally forgot to call on his birthday---oops! We'll celebrate either for Memorial Day or in Oceanside. Sorry.
