First Day of School

Jace and Brooke started school at Centerton Gamble Elementary.
Brooke is in 1st grade with Ms. Swank and Jace is in 3rd with Mrs. Thompson.
So far they love their teachers and school in general.

Waking up early is hard though.  They have to be at the bus stop down the road at 6:50am and school starts at 7:30am.  That's really early for little people.  They like helping me make their school lunches and are excited for me take a picture of their new lunchboxes.  Brooke got a mermaid one and Jace got a snakeskin one.  They are pretty cool.  My friend introduced me to a fun website that has creative healthy school lunch ideas. I've been really happy with their teachers so far.  Mrs. Thompson called me before school even started and talked with me about Jace.  She let me know that she does a lot of hands on projects in class and doesn't assign much homework.  Yippy!! That is such a relief because that kid needs some play time after being in class all day.  We met Brooke's teacher at the school open house.  She is a complete southern bell, thick accent n' all.  :)  Brooke adores her.  The kids were bummed that they didn't end up in the same class as their best friends but they play with them at recess everyday and several times after school throughout the week as well.  Jace said he plays star wars with Brady at recess and Brooke plays My Little Pony with Brinley and Lucy.  They are happy kids.

The kids love riding the bus.

As for me, I LOVE that school has started again.  I started doing a zumba class at the fitness center twice a week with my friend.  We just drop the two littles at the daycare there for an hour.  It's super fun.  I love having one on one time with my Ty baby.  I am so much more productive.  The house actually stays clean when I clean it and I take a nap with Ty everyday.  It's bliss.  It's been nice to have a little bit of a break from my Mr. Contrarian and Miss talker too.  I feel so much more rejuvenated by the time they get home.

She survived the first week school and is enjoying an after school snack in the back yard.  She only had one mishap with a mean kid. :)  The first day of school she sat by a little girl at lunch that told her if she ate her cookies before her other food she would call her mom that is a police lady and she would come arrest her.  She doesn't sit by her anymore. lol.

I love it! They are so grown up. I remember mom rejoicing everytime school started up again. Zumba is fun! I'm super horrible at it, but I take yoga classes twice a week and love it.
