Zoo Day

I woke the kids up early and told them that we were going to the zoo. They were super excited. Then they were even more excited when I told them that they got to go with their friends Nolan, and Gavin. My friend Genevieve was nice enough to invite us to go with them on their pass for free. She picked us up, we saw lots of animals, got to visit, and had a great time! I think more then anything the boys just liked running around with each other.

Nolan & Jace hanging out on the tractor in the petting zoo area. What macho little men.

Riding horses.

Best Buddy Bums: Nolan & Jace watching for animals.

The baby elephant was my favorite. It was so little and stayed close to it's momma. Although, the Naked Mole Rats were a close second. They were very interesting and gross at the same time.

The bird show was fun too. We were pretty close to one of the nests that they were flying to so we got to see them up close. It was fun for the kids because they were literally flying right over us. We were already sitting down but once Genevieve had to duck just so she wouldn't get plowed over. Those were some pretty big birds - they could have left a pretty big dent.

Watching the Hippos.

Brooke, Gavin, and Nolan in the Parakeet cage.

Big smiles from Brooke at the end of the day. Her favorite animal was probably the goats in the petting zoo. She liked getting close and touching the fur. Jace like the penguins best but we didn't stay in there for long because it was inside and the stinky fish stench was too much to bear. We had lots of fun and the kids were so tuckered out by the time we got home that they both took a nap. Yippy for fun days at the zoo.

Yay for zoo day! I am so not a pet person, but I love the zoo so much... maybe it's because they are all behind bars where they belong. j/k. lol. Glad you had a good day!
