A few evenings ago Craig and I curiously watched Jace as he carried around a white mixing bowl and was stirring something inside. I asked what he was making and he told me "I'm making a rainbow, mamma". I asked HOW he was making a rainbow and he showed me his very interesting and disgusting concoction: he had squeezed cherry tomato juice and seeds in for red, a blueberry for blue, some ranch dressing for white, the top part of the tomatoes for green ( he told me those were called "dregs" . . . I'm still trying to figure that one out?). He continued walking around the house and back yard looking for colors for his rainbow that he was concocting. He said he needed some light blue so I suggested the sky. "It's too high up, can't reach it" he said. Instead he pulled some light blue yarn off of a blanket and used that. It was so gross and smelled horrible. When it was time for bed he cried when I took it away from him and then made me promise not to throw it away. I let him keep it for one more day before I sneakily washed his smelly liquid rainbow down the drain and put the mixing bowl in the dishwasher. He hasn't noticed yet. He certainly has a huge imagination right now! We are getting excited for preschool to start soon. I have to admit that I am REALLY excited for a mid-day break 2 times a week.

Big smiles from the rainbow maker.
As for me, this morning I got up at 5:00 in the morning to make breakfast for Craig's entire team at work. 2 breakfast casseroles, 2 packages of bacon, and a fruit bowl. When Craig ran to the store to buy paper plates, he came back with flowers though. What a sweet husband I have. Thanks honey - I love you!

Brooke is a little ray of sunshine right now and is always willing to give snuggles, luvs, and help out whenever I ask her to get a diaper or find her sippy cup. She always responds with a "Otay mom, luboo mom." It's so much easier then the half hour I spend arguing with Jace just to pick up a few toys on his floor. It's very interesting how each child is totally unique and has their very own personality.

I've been such a slacker at reading blogs lately... BUT, I have to comment on your last three posts. First, your kids are too cute. Jace has a great imagination, seriously, a rainbow?? I'm thinking scientist one day. I love that he loves baseball movies, those are two of our favorite all time movies.
Also... I remember your thumb story!!! I also remember I didn't get what everyone was talking about, I thought they were just cute and totally normal. Good job on your garden... I can't wait to have home grown tomatoes one day. :)
Your kids are so cute!! Its good to see you.
