We Moved!!!

So . . . here we are in Washougal WA what can I say - It's really small! We have one grocery store and everything else is about 20 min away including big old Vancouver WA and even bigger Portland OR. We, however, are in Washougal and you know that you live in the boonies when there is rabbit meat available at the local grocery store . .. $3.99 per lb. what a bargain . . j/k that is soooo gross! It is really beautiful here though and one of the great things about living here is that there is no income tax in Washington and no sales tax in Oregon so since we live right across the border we do a lot of shopping in Portland. Luckily there is a Costco there - one of my favorite stores and I discovered IKEA which I totally love. Craig just started a new job at Fisher Investments as an Investment Counselor and he is liking it a lot more then Fidelity Investments back in Salt Lake City. The kids are adjusting well.

They love their new rooms and the housing community that we're in is pretty cool. They have a clubhouse with pool, sauna, hot tub, big screen, kids indoor playroom, gameroom/library, kids outdoor park/basketball courts and they have 2 other smaller children's parks scattered around.
They also have these really cool nature trails all over. One of them that is really close to our house leads down to this really secluded creek. Jace loves it when we walk down there. He loves to throw rocks and pebbles in it. Imagine that . . he's such a boy! We have already had some really fun outings since we've been here. The week before last we drove into Portland and found Washington Park. We thought it would just be a kids park which is what we were looking for but it turned out to be so much more! It had this amazing kids park hidden in the trees as well as The International Rose Garden . .they test different species of roses there and it's free to the public to visit. It was amazing - at least 2 football fields full of just rows and rows of roses. I was just taking it all in. They also had a Holocaust memorial, and The Japanese Gardens as well but we didn't have time to visit everything.

me & brooke at the rose gardens

Sooo pretty . .I love roses!

Craig & Jace got bored :(they entertained themselves by taking turns in the stroller.

We love it here so far. We are already getting a taste of the raining season - which is supposed to last about 9 months out of the year. It's so green and beautiful though. We want to be here at least 2 yrs which should be enough time to get all of our debt paid off and have some money saved for Craig to be able to go back and get his MBA. Well . .I'd better run. . .for now. Thanks for visiting our
blog!

Can you believe that this beautiful view is just minutes from our home . .crazy huh!

Never mind the last part of my last comment. I didn't finish reading all your posts. So, you guys are in Washington. Cool! It sounds amazing and it also sounds like there's plenty to do with the kids. You're so close to Rachel and Jason Short and Jim and Helen Heder. You guys should get together sometime. Well, I'm jealous. I love the area up where you're at, but I'm not sure if I could handle all the rain. It's still beautiful though, even with the rain.
