October Days

daddy's girl!


We are having a wonderful October . .so far (knock on wood). This weekend we spent the day at Lacamas Lake Park and had a blast. I love Fall! The crisp air outside, the changing of the leaves, it just smells different and wonderful.
On our way to the park we decided to try this new place for lunch . .Lou's Barbecue. Craig had said that one of his co-workers suggested it but when we pulled up it looked kind of dumpy. Well, I'll try anything once . .and Craig's motto is that sometimes the best food comes in dumpy rundown places. It was awesome. I had a barbecue brisket sandwich w/ sweet potato fries and Craig had a prime rib sandwich w/ potato salad. AMAZING!! If you're ever in the area up here you should definitely try Lou's Barbecue. Everything was soooo delicious. We love barbecue though and I don't know what it is about sweet potato fries but I think they are awesome. I first tried them at a vacation we had in Park City, UT at the Marriott Restaurant and I have loved them ever since. Anyways . . I miss the colors of fall in UT but it's pretty here too. It just changes gradually where in northern Ut you have like 3 weeks of amazing views and colors and then it's gone and it's snowing. I'm getting used to the rain. I just bought the kids slickers and send them in the back yard anyways. It mostly just mists though - not a ton of heavy rain. Jace likes to carry around his bob the builder umbrella just in case though.

Mommy me . .

. .enjoying a day at the park.

Sooo . .the other day I knew the kids were up to something because it was too quiet . .and any parent knows when it is tooo quiet something not so good is happening. I found Jace and Brooke in my bathroom. Brooke was in the cabinet under the sink throwing femanine products out all over the floor and when she turned her face I saw that she had pen marks all over her face. I turned around to see Jace with that I didn't do anything look on his face but with the guilty pen in his hand. My poor little Brookie . .she has to put up with a lot being the little sister.

Brooke up to mischief again . .

. .she loves to climb into my bathroom cabinet and throw all the feminine products all over the floor.

Craig is super busy at work because of the crazy economy but still manages to leave the stress at work and just be a good daddy and husband when he gets home.



I am busy with all the mommy and wife duties . . givin' my cuties lots of mommy kisses,cleaning, laundry, cooking, trying to get exercise, and of course a constant entertainer. I did get called to be the Activity Days Leader in our ward so I'm really excited about that! Mostly we're pretty boring though. Until later . .have a good one.
