Girl on Fire @ the School Talent Show

What a remarkable, courageous, talented daughter I have!  When we inched towards the end of the school year and a paper was sent home about the end of school talent show, Brookie wanted to be part of it.  She started practicing gymnastics.  I've been pretty impressed because she and her friends have mostly self taught themselves a lot of moves just from watching youtube videos on how to do gymnastics.  We put her into gymnastics lessons as well and she loves it.  I didn't realize that the dead line to have the paper signed and turned in was the very next day after she showed me so we missed the cut off.  She was super disappointed.  I sent a note to the teacher in charge but I didn't hear anything back about if they would let her participate so we put it at the back of our minds and decided she would just do it next year.  On the day that they were doing try outs her teacher asked her if she was going to do it and she said she didn't get her paper turned in on time and so she hasn't been practicing a routine or anything but then she decided she was just going to go for it and wing it at the rehearsal.  lol!!  I love her positivity!  She 'winged' it and did so well that she was the only person from her class that made it through  try outs to the talent show.  I was really proud of her.

I quickly helped her put together a routine to the music "Girl on Fire" by Alicia Keyes and she practiced and practiced it.  She was pretty nervous on the morning of the talent show but decided that if she forgot what she was supposed to do she would just wing it again and do some moves.  She did fantastic!!  Both her daddy and I were extremely proud that she would have the courage to perform in front of the whole school with a routine that we put together last minute.  She basically only had 1 full day to practice her routine before she performed it.  She really is my "girl on fire."  She amazes me everyday.  :)  I'm proud to be her momma.  You can check out her video on facebook.
