The First 3 Weeks

We had our first Tornado warning and had to get in our "safe" spot which is the closet. After watching the one in Oklahoma tear apart the city I'm pretty sure that the closet is not going to save us if one actually hits. The kids were scared and fighting and I think I would have preferred to be sucked up by the Tornado than have to spent another minute stuffed in the closet with Jace and Brooke. :(  Luckily it was just a warning and it didn't last too long.  Although, they had the WORST thunder and lightning storm I have ever seen/heard that night.  The kids were in our bed all night.  None of us could sleep.  The thunder literally shook the house.  It was scary.

After that first wonderful weekend we spent the next 3 weeks sick.  Craig had horrible allergies and the entire family went through a terrible bout of bronchitis, of course just 2 people at a time ... so it lasted forever!!  I also kept getting fevers and was horribly sick and we couldn't figure out what was going on.  Craig's parents were here at that time so Craig and Robert were able to give me a healing blessing.  The next morning Craig found that there was a tick on my back.  It was fully engorged so it had probably been there for a week.  It was in such a spot that I couldn't feel it or see it.  I was exhibiting all the signs that are recommended to see a doctor over.  It was a Sunday and I was still so sick so we ended up going to the ER.  The bronchitis along with a bad reaction to a tick bite was the problem.  They gave me meds for both and I starting to slowly recover.  I was so thankful to have my in laws, Paula & Robert, here visiting at the time.  They did so much for me and the kids.  They kept the kids fed and clothed and did all the cleaning and entertaining while I tried to get feeling better.  It's a miracle that they didn't get sick themselves with us all coughing so much.
Nani taking care of her grand babies. :)
Before I got sick we were able to do a few fun things.  We visited The Wild Wilderness Drive-Through Safari in Gentry, AR.  It was really fun.  They had a drive through section and then also a petting zoo area.  Grandpa bought some bags of animal feed and the older kids had fun feeding the goats, pigs, etc.. in the petting zoo.  I was disappointed that I didn't get a good shot of the Emu's during the drive through portion.  They come right up to the window and stare you down.  The kids were laughing hysterically.

Nani was a trooper and chased Ty around the whole place.  He did NOT want to be held.  He just wanted to run around.  We didn't last too long outside.  It was super hot that day.

We loved the baby monkey.  The kids thought it was funny that he was wearing a diaper.

Jace was mad because he wanted to sit on the Lion's head for the picture.

The girls also got to do a fun shopping spree and have dinner out together too.
You can never go wrong with a girls night out. :)
