1st Grade

Guess who is in 1st grade now!?!  Jace!!  He's such a BIG kid now.  I can't believe it.  Yesterday was his first day.  So far he's loving it.  What's not to love ... he gets 4 recesses, arts/crafts, friends, school lunch, and a fun new teacher.  He's even already memorized his lunch number.  When I dropped him off I gave him a big hug and walked him to his class.  He sat down in his seat and he looked at me and smiled then said "Okay, Mom you can go now."  I just stood there.  Sniff sniff ..my baby is all grown up.  Again he said "Mom, it's okay you can leave now."  It broke my heart .. he doesn't need me anymore. But as I turned to leave he said " Hey mom, I LOVE YOU!"  Yeah!!  I love him too.  The rest of the day I was kind of a grouch - just missing my boy.  Brooke was too.  She missed Jace lots and lots and had to get 5 immunization shots for preschool/kindergarten.  We were both kind of ornery except at the ultrasound. That was lots of fun! Poor Craig had to deal with us all on his own.  When Jace got home I pounded him with questions that he didn't really want to answer.  All he wanted to do was play on daddies new smartphone.  We weren't sure what he would me more excited about.  The fact that he's going to have a baby brother or that mommy and daddy now have phones that have Angry Birds and Air Attack on them.  lol   He was super excited about both!

I have a goof ball on my hands.  He is enjoying 1st grade with Mrs. Maynes.
