Pine Wood Derby

A few days before the 'big' day Jace reminded me that we need to put together his pine wood derby car.  Yay!?!  He wanted it light blue with dark blue fire on the sides.  He tried painting most of it himself but broke down in a fit because he kept messing it up so I helped him out a little.  Grandpa Robert ended up being here over the weekend so he helped take Jace to the craft store to get some weights and helped him put them in.  I could tell Jace was nervous.  He knew that his cousin Carter had done really well at his Pine Wood Derby winning 2nd place.  I just kept crossing my fingers that he didn't come in last.  They raced all the cars quite a few times so they had equal times racing all the tracks and all the cars.  Thankfully he came in first on one of the single races and his expression was priceless.  He "whooped"  smiled an enormous smile, punched the air, and ran down to get his 'winning' car.  Really he came in 2nd or 3rd on most of the races but we were happy to get that 1 win.  lol  Ty had fun seeing all the cars and had a hard time not being able to touch all the cars.  He threw several tantrums earlier in the day about not being able to play with Jace's Pine Wood Derby car.  Jace was pretty sweet about showing him around while we were there.  He took him over to look at all the cars at least twice.  Brooke hung out at the finish line with friends, cheering Jace on.  Even though he didn't walk away with an award he had a good time and thank goodness for that 1 win.  Every time he started to complain we or he would fall back on that he came in first at least once. lol
