Oh how I love General Conference. This year I made a delicious breakfast of Cinnamon Pull Aparts, Omelets, and fruit smoothies to enjoy while we watched. Every year we try to come up with some way to keep the kids busy and listening so we can listen too. This year I printed off an enormous Conference Activity Packet from A to Z. I informed them that each activity was worth 15 cents OR if they completed the ENTIRE packet by the end of the second Sunday session then they could earn $4.00. They both got busy. Not too long into it, Jace got bored and went to play outside. Brooke worked hard. It took a lot of time and effort but she ended up completing the entire packet to add $4.00 to her pumpkin patch fund. She was very excited. Jace earned $0.00. He was not a hard worker. He played most of the time.
In between sessions we taught the kids the blanket game. Ty is now obsessed with being pulled around on an old blanket. I pulled them around, and with daddies help, would swing them from side to side and up and down.
On a more spiritual note, Conference was fabulous. I could feel the spirit of the Holy Ghost and it touched my heart. I'm so thankful to have this gospel knowledge. I loved Bednar's talk on the importance of paying Tithing and Holland's talk on mental illness. I'm so thankful for my blessings and my family. Conference weekend was awesome. I love spending time together as a family.
Don't you just LOVE her Conference Crown!?!
