We had a great Memorial weekend with Grandma & Grandpa Johnson. The kids couldn't have been more excited. We got to see Aunt Julie and baby Dylan. Uncle Ben sent a poster of a helicopter signed by everyone in his squadron for Jace along with some other fun things all the way from Afghanistan. What a thoughtful uncle he has! I'll do another post on that later... We let Dylan and Ty play together, grandma did a picnic tea party with Brooke, and then crafts with both of them. Grandma is always full of fun things to do ... like snail hunting in her back yard. :) lol. That is one of Jace's favorite things to do ... but he won't touch them. He just points them out for her to put in a bucket and then he salts them. The trampoline is also a big hit. I'm trying to convince Craig that we need one as soon as possible. A new family car comes first though. The weather was cold and windy on Saturday so mostly we stayed in. Craig and I got to go on a date so we went out to dinner at Ted N'Allens Sports Grill and then saw The Hunger Games in the theater. It was so fun to have some kid free time. That hardly EVER happens. :)
The big hit was kayaking at Sand Hollow on Monday. Jace could hardly wait to get in the water. Jeremy and his family joined us (except for Erik who was camping with his other grandparents - Jace was pretty bummed about that. One of the funnest things about Grandpa's house is all the cousins.) We all took turns out in the water. Ty stayed on shore with little Alex just taking everything in. Grandpa sold his speeder boat and replaced it with Kayaks. Kayaking was very fun AND good exercise! I'm glad that Grandpa and Grandma have something fun to do together since they are empty nesters now.
We were all sad to have to leave to go home. On the way out Brooke proclaimed that she wished she could just stay there forever because Grandma's house is SO much fun. We stopped in Las Vegas on the way home at Hot and Juicy Crawfish to grab something to eat and take a break from driving. Sadly Ty is NOT a good traveler. He screamed and cried and didn't understand why he had to stay strapped in his seat. It was very sad. :( We posed with our dinner, got really messy hands, then forgot our camera there. It's a good thing I have a sweet sister who went and picked it up for me and then emailed me the pics. I didn't realize it was gone until we were in Kingman ... so thanks Julie!

I love your faces when eating the seafood. Awesome. The kayaking looks amazing too, I wish we could have been there. :)
Now, I know Dylan is small, but I don't think I have ever seen him in a picture with another baby. Ty makes him look super tiny tine. Ty's super squishy--squishy babies are fun! It is basically the only time being "squishy" is socially acceptable. :) Don't get me wrong, though...I like all babies...well, most of them anyway. ;)
It was so much fun having you come visit. I love going out to Sand Hollow. Kayaking isn't quite the same as taking the "speeder boat" out, but I love it!
