Kindergarten Graduation

I should have had this up a while ago but I'm in a blogging funk and find myself having a hard time motivating myself to get it done. I was SO proud of Jace for graduating from Kindergarten. My little man is growing up before my eyes. Daddy was still in Peru so he missed it. What a bummer. Oh well, Jace was so funny during the performance. First of all, he was placed front and center and what did he do the whole time?? While all the other kids were singing and doing actions to the songs?? He just stood there wide eyed and picked his nose. I couldn't figure out why he wasn't doing anything. Mrs. Figg told me that having Craig gone has taken a toll on him and he was spacing out in class a lot. I could see her point. I felt bad - maybe he had stage fright. Later when he was telling daddy about the graduation on skype he said he just doesn't really like to sing and didn't feel like it. SO Jace ... nobody is going to tell him what to do. He does what he wants and apparently he didn't feel like singing for the graduation so he didn't. He was VERY excited when the Principal, Mr. Bower presented him with a medal and a diploma. He even shook his hand. Jace carried those items around with him for the next 3 days straight. At the end they had the kids join their families and did a 15min. slide show of pictures from throughout the year of all 4 kindergarten classes. Jace excitedly told me about all the kids he knew from the playground or from in his class. It was very cute. They had cookies and juice and all the parents got a copy of the slide show. I can't believe that this kid is going to be in 1st grade next year ... going full days to school. Time flies...

Jace and his Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Figg.  She was such an amazing teacher.  We LOVE Mrs. Figg!

This was Jace during the majority of the performances.

Jace did a GREAT job on 'his' part that he memorized.  It went like this:  "We would like to read a special poem for you.  All I ever really needed to know I learned in Kindergarten."  I was super proud of him.  He practiced it every day.
As for Brooke - she was HORRIBLE during the performances.  We didn't have great seats so it was hard for her to see very well.  The graduation ended up lasting 1 1/2- 2 hours and that is a long time for a 3 yr old to sit quietly in her seat.  We were all happy to talk to daddy on the computer when we got home.
