The weekend before Easter one of the local churches around here hosted an Easter Egg hunt at the city park. We met the Larsen Family there. Mark was one of Craig's best friends from grad school and they have kept in contact since. Craig has even stayed with them several times while he was in Washington D.C. Craig helped him get a job here and they just moved out. Yay! We just need to convince more of our friends that North West Arkansas is the place to be. :)
At the park they had free lunch to begin with and then told the story of Christ and the crusifiction and resurrection while others set up the Egg hunt. They encouraged the kids to be good listeners by offering rewards to kids that answered questions about the story correctly. Jace squeezed his way to the very front of the crowd and listened so well but he walked away disappointed that they didn't choose him to answer a question. About that time I had to head back to the car to nurse baby Jenni. Close to 10 minutes later Jace came running back to the car in tears. The whole thing was a mess. None of the kids got into the right places because kids started picking up the eggs before it had officially started and those in charge couldn't get control of the kids. It was just chaos. Jace didn't get any eggs and was really upset. Craig tried to get Brooke over to her area and the Larson's took Jace with Parker since they are the same age. Ty didn't know what to do. Luckily a little boy next to him kept putting his eggs in Ty's basket. The mother kept saying "No, not that basket." so he luckily got some eggs with no help of his own. Brooke got a few and was happy with that. She shared hers with Jace. We visited with Mark and Tracie for a while and ended up going out to dinner with them that evening. So fun to have old friends here.
