We started the morning off with a very green breakfast. Green eggs, green pancakes, green milk, and ... regular colored bacon. lol Then we all pinched each other until we put our green St. Patrick's day clothes on. Except for Jace because he was lucky enough to have been wearing green underwear.
After a little morning clean-up we headed over to the church parking lot so Jace could learn to ride his bike without training wheels. This was quite the challenge. He practiced and practiced with daddies help and got to where he could ride for a few seconds by himself. After a while we decided to come back again on another day. It was a gorgeous day today. A wonderful morning to enjoy being outside. After coming home we spent the rest of the afternoon making a Leprechaun trap. Jace needed to make one as a class assignment to work on over spring break. We all had fun with it. We camouflaged a box to look like a clover patch because Leprechauns LOVE four leaf clovers. Then we put a rainbow and shiny shamrock on the front of the trap to lure him closer. We propped it up with a camouflaged pencil and put a trail of shiny gold leading up to the trap and a big pile right around the pencil as bait. Leprechauns go crazy for gold. When that tricky leprechaun is fumbling around to get the gold he'll knock the pencil down and be TRAPPED. Jace heard that if you catch a leprechaun they have to tell you where all their gold is. He's really counting on that trap to make him rich. He was also sure that it was a good thing to catch leprechauns because they are just silly mischief makers and we wouldn't want any of those guys wandering around in our house making messes and being naughty.
To top off this wonderful day - I didn't have to make dinner. Craig has taken over Saturday dinners and kitchen clean up. He did awesome. He made Arroz Chaufa (a Peruvian/Chinese fusion - kind of like fried rice), fresh limeade, and Suspiro al la Limena (a Peruvian pudding dessert). It was super yummy. The kitchen definitely looked like a man had cooked in there. It was a disaster area, but he cleaned up after himself. I'm already looking forward to what he's going to make next week. :)

This is Brooke at her preschool from a few days ago. They had a tricky leprechaun mess up their classroom while they were at recess. She was super excited to help make a trap to catch one.

| Craig's Peruvian dinner. If you can believe it - this kitchen was spotless before he started. I'm glad he's cleaning up too. :) His dinner was super yummy! I like having a night off. |

I need to be more creative during the holidays. I hear all these things/ideas, after the fact, and think "THAT IS FUN!" Well, maybe next year. I will be sure to set a bunny trap on Easter...
You are awesome.
Are you sure that isn't a grandma trap? I think it might lure me in!!! Good Luck Jace on learning to ride a 2 wheeler.
